4.0c has been reengineered, primary issues addressed:

• Client server based allowing multiple UIs connected to one server
• Lots of responsiveness and usability issues addressed
• Watchdog no longer prevents shutdown of system

First release of a completely new version of WatchDog.

New user interface, more test options. Settings are NOT backwards compatible, sorry.

• NB: this version has been put out without alteration to the help file
• Fixed bug put in in 3.4c: fixed web test entry so that check for more than one colon does not get it wrong when there is just one colon.
• Bug Fix: Fixed soundon/off buttons to match what is in config file at startup.

• Changed HELO line used in SMTP protocol to be HELO name_of_your_pc, instead of 'HELO host.name'. Also can be set manually in wdog.ini with the setting,
  Helo xxxx
  where wdog will use xxxx instead of the name of your PC. (when this was added it accidently used the Report SMTP host setting as the domain if helo was set in ini file)
• Now beeps three times if sound play fails.
• Stopped main list of test items flickering uncontrollably when it updates one item.

• Fixed bug: max tcpip channels it could read from was 64 - so all channels opened after that simply timed out.
• Fixed BUG: fixed Date: header in message so it ends with crlf instead of just lf - caused some email servers (e.g. qmail) not to accept WatchDog messages. Given to some customers as wdog34bb.
• Fixed Bug: added work-around for NT bug where last TCPIP packet arrives after the CLOSE message, added isclosing channel flags.
• Fix: made Helo line of SMTP protocol settable by manually setting, Helo=domain in wdog.ini.

• Added pager timeout if receives 'BUSY' reply from modem after dial.
• Added 'Speed=' ini setting which can be directly entered into wdog.ini to set phone/pager baudrate, e.g. Speed=2400 on a line by itself. Otherwise WatchDog uses com port settings as used by last device, e.g. HyperTerminal.
• Added phone/page dialout timeout adjustment, default is 5 seconds - more than enough for 99% of users.

• Fixed bug where changes to the Config dialog SMTP host setting did not take effect until restart - affected only report emails.
