"I also want to comment on the software. I have a dedicated news server that does nothing but dish out news. I haven't had to do ANYTHING to it since the install. It just works! Great Product. You Guys are to be commended on producing software that runs and runs and runs. Other ISP's ask me how I like DNews. My response is "It runs longer than that damn energizer bunny!" Thanks for the great product."

"Thanks for the help and support! I would like to share that we have found the DNews program to be an outstanding and reliable piece of software for our needs. Reading BSDI newsgroups allowed us to avoid some basic issues with memory and process limits form the start, and it has always been rock solid software. I would recommend this software to anyone interested in a top quality news server."
- Timothy J. Nolan Director of Internet Services Net3 Networks - the Internet Division of MSI Communications, Inc.
"Absolutely! DNews is the only News server to run especially if you are running Windows NT. We are a local Internet service provider. Our news server is currently handling over 22,000 News groups and several thousand customers. As soon as I got DNews up and running over a year ago I immediately purchased it. The features are all there! If your looking for a news server that works, is simple to manage and upgrade get DNEWS!"
- Kurt Haynes, ArcNet, (Walton Beach, Florida USA)
"We are very happy with the role of DNews as a customer facing nnrp type server. DNews us used as our dialin customer facing server. This hangs directly off our main news server (INN based, takes our two incoming feeds and supplies our leased line customers) In its role directly facing the customers it has performed perfectly. Our only glitch we thought we had eventually turned out to be hardware :) Economically speaking, it runs on a far lower spec then our INN based machine, with a 4GB Disk rather then the far larger one INN would require, a P100 Linux system is able to handle hundreds of dialing users per server. We have been very happy with the speed and reliability overall, and it is hassle free, setup, run and forget. "

"When we first found your news software on Xiaomu's Internet Applications list, we were in the process of figuring out just what we wanted to do as far as news server software goes. When we saw that your product offered support for not just one platform but nearly any we could think of, we decided to give it a try. After running a test feed flawlessly for several days on a spare Windows NT machine that in all truthfulness wasn`t the greatest speed demon in the world, we knew we had made our decision. After we let it run for 25 of the 30 day trial period with absolutely no downtime and a 400 customer load we promptly ordered the software. With the ease of use and stability, I don`t think we could have made a better purchase. "

The 2.0 incarnation of DNews is easy to set up, manage, and is extremely efficient. By moving to a SUCK feed vs. full IHAVE I can take EVERY group my newsfeed supplies for my customers on a 2 Gig drive. The stats are informative, and the system has been up and running with a IHAVE feed for 8 months and with a SUCK feed for one. Everything has run so smoothly I almost forget the machine is there for months at a time.

"LARGE thanks! ....... If only Microsoft had such customer support :-)"
"...this one looks great. I sat last night and tried everything I could think of to kill it. I downloaded about 100Mb off the server, opened multiple sessions, aborted downloads, reloaded groups... Couldn't kill it."
- Dave VanHorn, CEDAR systems, 27 Feb 1996.
"Well, I must say that I am glad I saw your post. I got DNews this weekend, and was very pleased with how easy it was to set up.
Even if it didn't do suck feeds, I'm still impressed that it uses a database for article storage, as well as streaming IHAVE/sendme. It took me an entire day just to get INNunoff3 _built_, and I haven't got a feed yet to test if it even works. DNews was sucking a feed from news.alt.net in an hour."
- Mike Batchelor, Capitol Internet Services, 25 Feb 1996.
"After using DNews for a while (Actually, I bought it as soon as version 2 was released), I have to say, this is one of the best products I've used in years! The support is amazing! Keep up the good work, and I'm recommending DNews to everyone I'm consulting for."
- Greg S. Monaco, Operations Manager, UNET 2 Corporation, 13 May 1996.
"If you ever have an administrator that wants to talk to someone else about DNews before purchasing it, I would be more than happy to talk to them and let them know what a wonderful product it is."
- Bobby Addison, 22 May 1996.
"Thanks again for all of your help, I just want you to know that we recommend DNews to anyone who is considering a news spool, and also that we made the change to DNews to handle the increased capacity from our upstream provider, (Inn 1.4 unoff 2 under BSDI just didn't cut getting a streaming feed from a balls-out sparc20 running inn 1.5) That we were only one of 3 sites to be able to handle the streaming feed and that we have the best uptime records (AND the least backlog of unposted articles).
Add to that DNews' (running on a non UNIX host) simply sailed through this last round of news server attacks unscathed (matter of fact we were made aware of these attacks at a very early time, thanks to DNews posting control messages to the USENET mailbox) makes this one of our best software purchases ever."
