What I'm suggesting is remove g_gateway rule, and replace it with g_route rule to send everything to the gateway, with the exception... ?

Hmm, not sure.... I have g_gateway (domain=*) set to a smarthost, and ideally I'd like to bypass that smarthost for messages coming from IP address x.x.x.x. (I'm also utilizing g_gateway_ifnot.) Currently the only case where I'm using g_route is to send mail destined for one particular domain to a different host (sounds like I could use g_gateway for that, too). How does g_route_except interact with those other settings? In other words what takes priority over what? If we can't get this concept to work and I have to do the routing based on sender email address, is there any way to restrict that a particular sender email comes from a specific IP address(es)? And, in that case, can "dest" in g_route be "*" (i.e. use MX)? Thanks, Bob Bob Fera I.T. Is there any way to get Surgemail to send outbound mail to a specific gateway/smarthost (or, more specifically in my case, no smarthost) depending on the ip address the message came from (i.e. the sender's ip address)? "g_route" does it based on sender's email address, which I guess I'll use if I have to, but in my particular case the IP address would be better. Given that, does "g_route" allow "*" for the "dest" field (i.e. use MX record to send directly and bypass the smarthost)? In other words, and for more context, I'm trying to get emails generated by a specific system on my network to go out directly rather than through my smarthost/scanning service. Thanks!
