Features you may not know about.

Spam Folder - The special 'Spam' folder (visible in any imap email client) will contain messages that are probably spam. However, if you loose an important email try looking in this folder as it may contain the missing message! By simply moving the message from the spam folder to your Inbox SurgeMail will remember to trust messages from that person in future (even if they look a bit dodgy!)
Spam Settings - You can adjust the spam settings for your needs. Login to http://your.mail.server/cgi/user.cgi and go to Friends settings and set the level at which messages will be stored in your Spam folder, a value of 10 will reduce spam but rarely block a real message. A level of 8 will stop more spam but may sometimes place real email in your Spam folder for you to manually retreive.

Features you may not need but will be happy to know exist...

Mirroring, if your admin is using it then surgemail may be mirroring all message data to a second system this means in the event of a failure the backup system is ready to be used instantly.
Archiving. Again if enabled by your admin, this mechanism can keep a record of all incoming and outgoing email for weeks months or years. Also you may be able to search this archive and retrieve lost messages if the administrator has enabled user access to the archive.
Spam handling. It may not always get it right, but rest assured dozens of mechanism are being used to filter and analyze every incoming message. For full details see this page:
